ROBERT L. WILLIAMS PUBLIC LIBRARY SERVICES
  • INTER-LIBRARY LOAN (ILL): This program allows the library's patrons access to items found in participating libraries all over the United States.
  • CHILDREN'S STORY HOUR: At 10 a.m. on Thursdays during the Fall, children may participate in the story hour.
  • SUMMER READING PROGRAM: Through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Friends of the Library, an eight week long summer reading program is offered to students ages 6-12 during the public school's summer break.
  • BOOK TALK: In the months of September through November and January through April the Friends of the Library sponsors a book review group for those interested in reading, reviewing, and discussing books in a group setting with other library patrons. Book Talk meets the 1st Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
  • LIBRARY TOURS: Library tours are offered to groups of all ages. Tours include a brief history of the Library and its founder as well as an introduction to library procedures, services, and layout. Tours are available year-round and must be scheduled in advance.
  • NURSING HOME OUTREACH: Friends of the Library take selected books to area nursing homes.
  • ANNUAL BOOK SALE: Supported by the Friends of the Library, the Annual Book Sale provides an excellent literary shopping experience during the first weekend in October. Proceeds of the book sale benefit the Robert L. Williams Public Library.
  • FOL BOOK CART: The Friends of the Library book cart is a sale cart available throughout the year and features used best-sellers, non-fiction titles, children's books, and quality paperbacks.
  • FREE TABLE: Citizens can bring magazines so others may use what they need. This is a benefit to both those who don't want to discard magazines and those who cannot afford to subscribe or to purchase magazines. Paperback books are also circulated in a similar fashion. Books are donated, but a patron must bring a book in exchange for one taken from this group. Please ONLY exchange books that are in good condition. DO NOT bring books with missing covers/pages, water damaged books, or books with burnt pages. This shelf is for paperback books ONLY.
  • TYPEWRITERS: Patrons are allowed to use the typewriters during normal business hours, free of charge.
  • PUBLIC USE COPYING: A photocopier is available for public use. The cost for copies is 20¢ per page.
  • GENEALOGY: Tracing your family heritage? The library features many resources to help you out.
  • PUBLIC USE COMPUTERS: There are seven public use computers available complete with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access as well as many other popular programs and games. Patrons find this service particularly helpful in preparing reports for school, resumes, etc.
  • INTERNET ACCESS: Public Internet access is now a vital part of the services the library provides. Because of the high demand for free Internet access, patrons are limited to 1 hour of Internet use. A parent's permission is required for children under 18 years of age for Internet access. It is suggested that parents supervise children during access.
  • MICROFILM READER: The library also has film for Choctaw Rolls, the 1910 census of 5 tribes as well as newspapers.
